Guernsey Sea Farms has been producing and supplying oyster and clam seed for thirty years. We have a wide international market, with such countries as Ireland, Canada, Spain, Italy, Namibia, South Africa and Morocco.Isolated from other areas of shellfish production, Guernsey Sea Farms has long had a reputation of supplying disease free oysters. Independent laboratories test our seed each year and we have always followed strict guidelines on movement of shellfish.

 Guernsey has excellent air connections and seed can be delivered to Scotland and most areas of Ireland same day, and to most other destinations within 48 hours by airfreight. Seed is chilled to 12C and packed dry in polystyrene boxes. Throughout its time at Guernsey Sea Farms the stock is continuously being graded and moved to different positions. We have an excellent record system that allows us to easily trace back particular batches of seed. We monitor each and every batch of oysters dispatched by holding samples of seed back in our nursery to compare growth and survival rates at a later date.
